I've been thinking . . .
Everybody online was talking about how uninspiring Tim Cook was yesterday.
Can you imagine how hard it was for all of them to get up and give that presentation, knowing that Steve Jobs lay dying?
It makes me sad for them and puts their less than enthusiastic demeanor in a new light

If I were those Apple senior managers I'd think this a fitting tribute - an iPhone 4Steve Jobs edition; instead of a Siri humble personal assistant, it would have a Steve Jobs not-so-humble assistant with 128GB and $1000.
If Roger Ebert can have a computer synthesis of his voice created from old clips of At the Movies you would think that Steve had more than enough time for them to make a flawless one.
I watched the presentation this morning and there were a couple times where there were weird sort of sot to voce looks at the camera like, "This highly technical jumbo and these gadgets are really only worth so much. Eat less of our dog food, get out there and live a little."

I wonder if they delayed the announcement to give space after yesterday's presentation. I haven't seen a time of death, but haven't really looked either.

I wondered a few months ago when we hadn't seen any sign of Steve if that was the case . . .
The notice on Apple.com posted late in the day today pretty clearly said "today." I'm good w/ that.

I just received my November issue of MacLife and in the upper left hand corner of the cover was a picture of Steve Jobs with a caption:
He's gone.
WHAT'S NEXT?

Since this edition had to have been printed days ago, at least, it seems prescient.
Of course they'd have to be thinking about Apple after Steve left, but…

Extremely poor taste is more like it. When someone is terminally ill it takes a huge amount of insensitivity to proclaim "he's gone" even if they are arguably only referring to his professional life.
