Re: What is your oldest household appliance? - voodoopenguin - 03-12-2012 We got married in 1978, from the wedding presents the kettle finally died last year, the toaster is still going, the fridge is still going but at a holiday cottage. There was a freezer that came with the house we bought back then which is still going elsewhere, my daughter still uses my mother-in-law's old Kenwood Chef from the late 1950s and my wife uses the Kenwood Chef of my own mother from the early 1960s. That's the electrical items I can think of, plenty of non electrical household tools. It's much nicer to cook on than the awful 1980s electric stove that was in there before. I've had to replace a few things but it's been pretty rock solid. |
