G5 tower heater - lost in space - 11-13-2012 My office doesn't have heat, which wasn't a problem when I had a G5 tower on my desk and later, an Intel Pro. Since I got a new iMac, the office has been cold so I got my old G5 out of the surplus pile and plugged it in. Problem solved, and it's a cool looking heater. Re: G5 tower heater - kledo - 11-13-2012 You could just burn the furniture for heat...... --Kledo Re: G5 tower heater - DP - 11-13-2012 lost in space wrote: You can't make this stuff up (unless lost is making this up)! Still not as hot as my Dual 2.7 G5 was though. Re: G5 tower heater - JPK - 11-13-2012 you could buy an old G5 on craiglist, gut it and install a ceramic personal heater and put it under your desk. JPK Re: G5 tower heater - mlfrank - 11-13-2012 I've been tempted to contact a local hackintosh maker to gut my G5 and install new innards. Don't know if it is feasible, but figured it might be worth a try. Re: G5 tower heater - Zoidberg - 11-13-2012 I had one; loved it in the winter, hated it in the summer. Always loved the look/design -- and the bonus ports UP FRONT for goodness' sakes. |
