Holy crap! I'm a dog lover and just can't understand this. Horrific! Thank God for that cat!!! (And Mom was right there, too. How awful for her.)

My money is on the cat reacting to the attack, not the trespass.

Who says cats aren't loyal? I watched a version of this that had a clip of the boy back home cuddling with the cat: awwww! Based on that, I'm going with Cat Defends his Boy.
