Duralast Flex Wiper Bladers - kap - 10-17-2014

Wife's 1990 Toyota RAV4 needs new windshield wipers. What on the car now is the Bosch Micro Edge blades. The ones we are considering are the DuraLast Flex Blades at our local Autozone. What do you think of the latter?

I put flex wipers on one car. And when winter storms hit, I had to replace them. If you're pushing a heavy load of snow and ice.. don't.

OEM blades are expensive, but they offer the best performance.

Yep! Speaking of which, does any place still sell just blade refills? I have my OEM blades that are just a few years old and the support portion is in good condition. But no parts stores around sell just the refill for the wiper anymore. Even the cheapest non-OEM blades are much more expensive than it used to be to just buy refills until the metal blade support got worn.

Whatever the warehouse club sell. Even OEM replacements NEVER last as long as what actually shipped on the car. That goes for ALL "OEM" replacement parts. The factory obviously gets better quality parts than what gets shipped to the dealers.

Darn, I wish I knew this! I took the advice of Autozone and tossed out the OEM that came with the car and bought the Bosch replacement instead. Now that ones have worn out, I have been recommended to get the DuraLast Flex. Just by the feel of it, I don't think these will last long.

+1 I just ordered OEM inserts for my Highlander on Amazon. Expensive but worth it. I'm had mine on for just about 2 years now.
