Cloud photo storage - Cary - 02-14-2017 So I'm looking for a cloud photo storage service for my wife. She has an iPhone, which needs the photos moved off of, and an iPad. She wants to be able to see the photos on either device. What do you recommend? TIA! Cary Re: Cloud photo storage - jdc - 02-14-2017 iCloud, 99ยข/mo for 50 GB. Just turn it on and let it do its thing. Easy peasy. Re: Cloud photo storage - wurm - 02-14-2017 Scoff if you want, but you might consider Google Photos. Unlimited and free. Yes, they're "compressed", but not noticeably so for most people. Re: Cloud photo storage - Bimwad - 02-14-2017 Google Photos also offers an uncompressed option, but it falls under the standard 15GB limit for a Google account, shared with Gmail and Drive. Flickr offers 1TB free. Nothing prevents using any or all of the above, and given the ethereal nature of cloud services, I would hedge my bets and use more than one. Re: Cloud photo storage - DP - 02-14-2017 15GB? 50GB? That's it? I'd fill that up in a few minutes... OK, so if she doesn't more than that, fine. But as cheap as external HDs are these days, you can get a 2TB for backup and backup to that with just a couple extra steps. Re: Cloud photo storage - NewtonMP2100 - 02-14-2017 .....and learn from all the celebrity hacks......no compromising pics stored on the cloud, please........ Re: Cloud photo storage - Sam3 - 02-14-2017 I second iCloud, especially if those are the only two devices that will be used. That is exactly what iCloud is designed for, sharing photos easily between Apple devices. The OP never mentioned a computer, so a hard drive solution would be out. Re: Cloud photo storage - Gareth - 02-14-2017 Amazon Photos is included with a Prime membership, or $60/year without (the standalone purchase also gives you unlimited storage for videos and files). Re: Cloud photo storage - ka jowct - 02-14-2017 Photos stored in Dropbox or Amazon cloud storage are easy to access from a handheld device. |
