Is there such a thing as a tiny, yet full powered microwave? - hal - 06-09-2020

Well... is there?

Past searches have come up empty. Counter space is VALUABLE real estate around here, but I'm getting tired of my under powered 700w microwave. Are there any options?

what interior microwave dimension would be ideal for your situation?

Is 0.9 cu.ft., 1040W good enough?

hopefully big enough for a dinner plate, but I would consider smaller. I just upped a search to include 800-900w units and they are all 14" deep. I want less - current is 11.5"

0.8 cu ft, 900 watts, $245: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZTVIPZ2

yeah - all of my searches lead to this unit - it's too big, but it might be the best candidate. 1040 is WAY more than 700.

I just replaced my circa 1984 Montgomery Wards microwave with this 1100 watt 1.2 cubic foot model. It's not tiny, but it's not big either. I think you'll find that the external dimensions of this model, and the models with the really tiny interiors to be not all that different.

Edit: For what it's worth, you're not going to find a microwave oven with more than about 1250 watts even in the largest models if it's designed to operate on a typical 15 amp household circuit.

Looks nice, but it's 17" deep - that's pretty significant
