My friend went Rambo and upgraded to Quark 7 and Bought CS 3 last week and just tossed it all on there and went for broke. Now he can't Print to PDF like he did in Acrobat 6. When he contacted Quark they said "Adobe Acrobat 8 is currently not supported by QuarkXPress 7.2".
Anyone know any good fixes? I told him to just print a PS file and then use distiller. Anyone know a quick and easy way to create a PS file out of quark? I believe he can just print to his HP RIP software for is 13x19 HP ink jet but instead of saving to the RIP folder (assuming it works similar to the Epson RIP) save it to the desktop and drag it into distiller.
Anyone have any better fixes?

Yes, we saw that. However, I'm not sure if he is comfortable w/ Terminal.

I don't feel comfortable in terminal so I do it your way-2 steps to print to postscript then distill. Time consuming though.

i use quarks built in PDF creator, works fine

He's trying to create a PDF that is setup for the printer. He needs to specify his settings and I don't know if Quark 7's built in PDF creater allows you to play w/ the settings that much.

you can make any kind of PDF you want from quarks PDF exporter
i have used quarks built in PDF creator ever since quark 6 started shipping with it
never an issue on hundreds of jobs, from 1 page to 150 pages from 1" square to 14 feet by 48 feet...

Quark's built-in Postscript-clone-based PDF export function works fine,
but I always optimize the PDF files afterwards in Acrobat Pro, to tweak
file size and control other details.

I just got 7.2. Another vote for Quarks' internal PDF creator - no problems here.
