Do PCs need a program to access FTP? - lipskidder - 05-14-2008 If so are there free apps out there? It seems the people here at work just use Explorer and access it that way. Not certain. I have a mac, my dad PC and I want to help him access his new FTP site. I don't have a PC here and he is hours away. You can also do FTP from the command line in Windows. You just need to know the commands get, put, and a few others. Windows Explorer will also allow you to FTP. Re: Do PCs need a program to access FTP? - kj4btkljv - 05-14-2008 I use FreeFTP by Coffee Cup Software. http://www.coffeecup.com/free-ftp/ The only thing it does is bug you to purchase everytime you quit out of the app. No big deal. I still prefer to use the command line though. Personally, I find it much easier to use Explorer than FTP clients. |
