video projector for $99 new - beerman - 12-17-2008
I was shopping today when I came across the Shift XL-90 video projector for $99. I did a little googling and came up empty. I do see some on ebay selling for more than what the local store is selling them for. Has anybody seen one of these in action? I assume they are crap but I'm curious to know just what they are good for.

It is likely the same Chinese import, rebranded.

I saw elsewhere that it is not very bright. And resolution supposedly is 480x240.

At $50 it is in the toy category and I would not expect much from it. I tried to think of a situation I could use it in but came up empty. I still want one of these though...

I've had a PK10 for about 2 years now: http://www.amazon.com/Mitsubishi-PK10-Pocket-Projector/dp/B000MX625M (first link I found...check around).
...with a battery pack and it works great. Perhaps worth checking into.

The 3M projector got mediocre reviews.
