My neti pot just arrived and the instructions say to use sea salt. All I have is salt in the kitchen for cooking. Where do I get sea salt?

Sea salt is not necessary for the neti pot. I have found un-iodized salt to be more comfortable. Body temperature water. I use salty as tears normally. I double the salt sometimes to pull out more mucous.

supermarket, spice aisle.
you could also bring back home a bucket of sea water from the beach and let the water evaporate. Plastic bucket recommended.

Ah, not for nasal irrigation, you don't.

Not in your nasal sinuses you don't. And like I said, I just found un-iodized salt to be more comfortable, but Dave is welcome to use whatever he wants since it is his sinuses.

Is "sea salt" somehow different than the salt I use for cooking? Is it stored in a special place in the grocery store? This is what I'm asking. Thanks,

If you use "Sea Salt" for cooking it is the same, it is in the spice aisle.
I never use iodized salt for cooking, it has a metallic taste, I use Kosher salt.

Table salt contains sodium chloride, plus often has some additives to make it flow better and iodine. Sea salt contains a number of salts other than sodium chloride, including magnesium, calcium, potassium, and sulfate salts. The only reason the neti pot instructions specify sea salt is because they don't want you snorting iodine or other additives up your nose...it has nothing to do with sea salt being better. You can buy uniodized table salt that is pure sodium chloride. Just look on the label to ensure that there aren't any other ingredients.
