How much do you hate the person to whom you are sending these things? If you dislike them a whole lot, then use packing peanuts. If you want them to like you, use bags of air. Smile

In truth, I'll be waiting to see what the serious answers are. One thing about packing peanuts that I find very annoying is the amount of static that builds up in them, although I'm not sure it's enough to damage electronics.

AlphaDog is right on the money-Peanuts are a pain, they get everywhere, etc. Plus they are no fun at all to try to pop after opening the box....

F&#^$ packing peanuts. I leave neutral feedback for ANYONE who ships me something using them. Negative is a given if they didn't even bother to plastic wrap the item and the peanuts are all over the inside of it as well.

Only thing worse than packing peanuts is someone that recycles used styrofoam and shreds it.

What a mess

We get mostly parts and boards in anti-static bags surrounded by either cellulose paenuts or partially shredded paper cushion.

Most foam has been replaced by cardboard.

Starch peanuts are a nice option: very little static, dissolve in water or can be composted.
