Nice comprehensive piece in Bloomberg (sorry if I missed it in this thread somewhere):

Never met him in person. Got close once at Macworld one time when he was on the floor, but the crowds were crazy! Spent many a cold, dreary, very early morning waiting line to catch a Stevenote. The vision and innovation that he possessed was unparalleled. I can't even imagine what I would be doing right now if it were not for the Macintosh. So long Steve, may peace be with you and your family now.

Amen.

Nice stuff on Anderson Cooper right now. Interviewed Woz a few minutes ago, then montage, now speaking with Ronald Wayne.

Re: Steve RIP - datbeme - 10-06-2011

And there may be no greater tribute to Steve’s success than the fact that much of the world learned of his passing on a device he invented. wrote:

Interesting thought. True for me...as well as my wife, and I honestly didn't even know if she knew who he was.

Wouldn't have thought that my 6th grader did, but he said "we'll definitely be talking about this in school tomorrow."

Re: Steve RIP - mrbigstuff - 10-06-2011

of course, I wish I had attended a keynote back in the Boston MW days of the 90s when I think Steve did one, maybe in 97 or 98...?

Re: Steve RIP - jesse - 10-06-2011

Seems strange to be so affected by the passing of someone I never met, but I can't help how sad this makes me.

RIP Steve

What can one say about Steve Jobs and his impact on the world that hasn't been said before? Words fail us - me and everyone else.

We loved you like the brother you are to us all. R.I.P. Steve Jobs.

I rather like this picture of him. Humanizes him and brings him back down to Earth. From SFGate.com.

Thank you for posting this photo. Extremely touching.
