Re: can i speed up my tower? RAID and save some money - macisgr8 - 10-26-2010 Buy two 7200 rpm 500 GB hd's (or bigger and the same model) and RAID them as a stripe using Apple's Disk Utility. Then either reinstall a fresh OS or restore a Time Machine back to the RAID. The speed increase is very significant. I can send you the xbench results of before and after I did mine.
