The sweet spot seems to be 16 GB-- ~$22; if these things popped up at $40 again you'd have yourself a 24 gig player (with radio) for around $60. Would have to hear it to really judge though-- if the sound is not as good as a 5th gen Nano, I consider the $100 difference well worth it. I won't buy a new iPod on principle now because of the lack of card expandability. We Apple-niks have come to expect built-in limits as some kind of obligatory neutering. That's a good point and you're right, I guess I have. Presently it's looking like the 5th gen Nano is the last portable music device Apple will produce that suits my needs. Will definitely expect expandability next time I make a purchase. Occasionally I'll have earphones in while doing stuff, pretty much only when coming home from aforementioned bus ride and not yet wanting to cut the cord-- I can't imagine bicycling for one minute with earphones in though. I drag and drop files from iTunes onto the appropriate folder on the Clip and call it a day, but some people might prefer the Sansa iTunes sync software.
