I still have memories of seeing them one winter - the guy who lost both forearms was holding firecrackers in his claws and letting his buddies light them off, while he held on to them.

Where was this? I want to be certain I never even fly over this town!
Warren, MI baby!
To give you an idea of what it was like living there at the time, here's a little quote:
"Warren once had the distinction of having been the "whitest" large city as well. In 1970, whites made up 99.5% of its total population of 179,274"
Yeah, that sound's about right. I attended what would have been my 20th HS reunion (had the family not moved away) and out of the 200+ people there, I was pretty much the only non-white person in the room. Is it possible to be an Asian redneck?

Buying charcoal and sulfur was easy. I remember telling the pharmacist that the Vet told us to get Potassium Nitrate for our dog. Kids can be amazingly resourceful! 8-)

I shot flaming arrows at balloons and paint cans full of acetylene gas.

I have yet to try tracers and propane bottles though. I need a deserted place for that.

I thought it was familiar too, but I didn't realize I'd posted it before! LOL!

OH well... March 2009 seems like a long time ago now...

Thank-you! That was bugging me all day! I thought there were too many elements of the story that sounded familiar.

Worth a retelling, though.
