Even if you use software update, you will get the combo update for 10.5.8. There is no delta update for anything below 10.5.7.

That's fine, but to me, if someone says, "Get the combo update," it implies going to apple support and downloading it yourself.
Oh, and don't forget to repair permissions, do a rain dance, and sacrifice a green-feathered chicken.
