great to hear. plus you should be able to setup vlc to auto open when a dvd is inserted, making apple's limited player obsolete. vlc is actually so much better anyhow.

So the drive isn't broken? That's great news. I agree, VLC is far better than DVD Player.

I didn't know VLV can autoplay. I looked for it in the prefs area but didn't see it. If you have any idea on how to do that, I'd love to know.
