Also check at Lowes or Home Depot if there's one nearby. Both carry Cuisinart, Kitchen Aid, Black & Decker, etc. food processors. Their web sites seemed to have better selection than the stores you listed. Don't forget to check about grating blades, which may not come in the basic kit.

Good luck.

All of the above work, but one of the many Hamilton Beach food processors seem to be a good value.

Such as this.

And, don't forget your local Craigs List for folks dumping wedding gifts and more for peanuts on the dollar!!!

Re: food processor - Black - 09-12-2011

I would never buy a Cuisinart again.
I bought a combo food processor/blender a few years ago and it was non-functional out of the box. It was a complete nightmare getting the necessary replacement part-- they kept trying to charge me for it; took about two months total.
My next purchase will most likely be a Kitchenaid.

Cuisinart. Bed Bath and Beyond plus one of their coupons.

Re: food processor - mrbigstuff - 09-12-2011

Cuisinart is not what it used to be in consumer machines (unless they have a pro line or something), not even close, so unless it's a specific model recommendation I would not make a blanket Cuisinart recommendation.

I've looked into this pretty extensively. If you want something that will last, and has good flexibility, either get a Kitchen Aid or Cuisinart, generally. Probably worth checking the ratings for a specific model on Amazon.com.

After all, isn't something like this what you really want for a food processor or kitchen aid?

Macys carries Cuisinart, that's where I bought mine and I would highly recommend them.
