i remember in the 80s the authorities said they were going to crack down on people stealing milk crates.
i used them a lot in college, myself.
actually, i stored albums in the longer variety until i bought an Expedit from IKEA.

we use this to file bills. It makes a pleasant sound when they hit bottom.
