And how did Romney make gains? Not just by being aggressive at the debate, but also tacking to the middle. Conservatism is not a winning strategy.

(tu)

Also by lying.
Interesting strategy indeed.
When his campaign said they would Etch a Sketch away the "severe" conservative Romney who won the primaries, they weren't kidding.
This election is now moderate v. moderate on domestic policy.

Romney is going to have to modify his stand on abortion, Planned Parenthood, and birth control before I can remotely refer to him as moderate.

He can go back to Romney 1.0, when he was pro-choice and supported PP with a donation.

He won't...but truly he's the most flip-floppy guy I've ever seen running.

Even dailykos has the giant disaster brush out.

Re: Yup, Romney's ahead - $tevie - 10-09-2012

If one debate has that much clout, then I ain't going to worry until the next one is over and done with. Looks like there are people out there who flip flop as badly as Romney does.

PS: I am on record as not having a lot of faith in polls until maybe a week or two from the election. So there's another reason I can't wail and rend my garments just yet.

I think Obama will take the next debate seriously. I don't think anyone knew that Romney could be trained into an articulate debater. It certainly did not occur to me.Props to Chris Christie et. al. for the debate boot camp.

Eager to see Joe stomp Paul tonight.

I am going to wait and see. Paul is an even worse liar than Mitt, and he's really good at it, too.

I love to hear those Dem talking points that Mitt only won because he lied.

Gives me a thrill up my leg.
