The good memories will stay with you while the emptiness and pain fade over time. There'll be fewer "I don't care about anything days" too. Just keep taking it one day at a time. You're going in the right direction. We're always here for you.Angel

I don't remember hearing this news when it happened - how horrible for you. My deepest condolences on your lost, maco. Be well and stay strong.

Thanks. My wife passed away in June. We were married for 27-1/2 years. Best of friends for 37 years (we met in college). Took a 3 month honeymoon traveling around the world heading west. Did it with one carry-on bag each.

My wife was beautiful, very intelligent, spoke many different languages. She took very good care of my parents in their final years. Raised our two great children. Her final words to me: "I always loved you."

I'm glad you're doing ok. The holidays will no doubt be rough. Starting with the New Year you need to focus on you. What do you want to do? A hobby that's been gathering dust, a new hobby, volunteer work, travel, a class or two, new exercise routine... anything that focuses on you.

How lovely.

Wow maco, I don't know how you handle it. I'm so glad though that you have such a rich, thorough and loving relationship to base your memories on. I'm glad that you honor her life with such sweetness. Celebrating her is a great thing.

Hang in there, maco.

Stay strong, stay busy. My father lost his wife, his partner, his best friend of near 50 years. I can't imagine his turmoil and pain. But I visit every week, make him part of my family activities. I hope your loved ones are there for you.

Music is a great help, isn't it? So glad you're checking in, maco, and putting one foot in front of the other no matter what...
