Re: why do people do this? - Black - 11-15-2012 Whether you can get law enforcement to help in a situation like this depends to a great extent where you live and whether you have friends within the police department. Sounds to me like you're advising s-t into wasting time on a frustrating run-around. Re: why do people do this? - Mr Downtown - 11-15-2012 Today's Chicago Tribune carries a Problem Solver column about a woman who sold an item through Amazon. Buyer then claimed it was damaged and got her money refunded, but Amazon told her she wasn't obligated to return the item to seller. Seller is now out the item and the payment, and Amazon refuses to discuss the matter with her or the Problem Solver. After selling about 400-500 items on Amazon over the past year, I start to have doubts about long term strategy. Seems like Amazon will side with the buyers in many of these cases Re: why do people do this? - Dennis S - 11-15-2012 Can you ask Amazon if he has a history of doing this? Re: why do people do this? - rz - 11-15-2012 eBay's the same way. One of the many reasons I stopped selling on eBay years ago. I had a projector for sale, and some numbnuts bid it up, as well as several other projectors. He never paid me, or any of the other sellers. He did, however, leave nasty feedback saying the projector was "broken". Took a long time to get that negative feedback taken away.
