Re: Question(s) re: prepping older Macbook for resale - mikebw - 01-13-2013 * Be sure to deactivate the iTunes authorization on the machine before sending it off! Re: Question(s) re: prepping older Macbook for resale - space-time - 01-13-2013 FYI, SL is just $19.99 from Apple.com Re: Question(s) re: prepping older Macbook for resale - ArtP - 01-13-2013 I'd probably leave the 320gb in also - you'd probably get that value back in increased bidding. Legality aside, you could take that 60GB drive and do a clean install of Snow Lepord on it because some people don't want to do the App store dance - buy and download it - when they can just pop in your drive and rock and roll. You may get double what it is worth just bare formated Also I found out that the Apple store uses (or used to use) Mr. Clean magic erasers to make the laptops look like new when u take them in for service. Try and clean it up with that. Re: Question(s) re: prepping older Macbook for resale - wurm - 01-13-2013 Thanks for the advice. I think we have a Magic Eraser here (you're not the only one suggesting that). And yes, we already deauthorized the computer from iTunes. Now I just have to uninstall Undercover. On the other hand you could be accused of so many things ... Yeah, uninstall it. Re: Question(s) re: prepping older Macbook for resale - decay - 01-13-2013 those original 60GB drives were problematic. Apple even issued a replacement program, long since closed. Re: Question(s) re: prepping older Macbook for resale - DRR - 01-15-2013 If it were me I'd put the 60GB back in and sell the 320 separately. Probably make another $30-40. |
