He's a great guy who can laugh at himself, that's why the kids like him so much. The errors would not have generated as much response if they had not come from a school principal. It was a written, not verbal, communication, meaning the principal could have (should have?) proofread it before it was sent. How do you know who wrote it? You don't. Neither do I. This principal of a school of 2,500 is a very busy man with three administrative assistants in his office. They prepare and send a lot of the correspondence, including parent emails. Mike dictates messages and letters all the time. There is no way he can proofread all of them, that would not be the best use of his valuable and limited time. Maybe he fired this off on his iPad while in the middle of an important meeting about something else - I really don't know and it's not that important. I'm a huge fan of proofreading and correct grammar, really, I am, and it's funny when people in education make these mistakes. The point of the OP was to share some lighthearted humor from a professional who is very skilled at using humor to work through sticky situations. That is all. I'm confused. Do you know who wrote it or don't you? |
