It's not legal to smoke at Hempfest either, they just don't enforce it. This whole thing bothers me quite a bit. I'm extremely allergic to it. If someone is smoking 30' from me and I can't get out of the smoke within a few minutes, I get a migraine, vomiting, loss of vision... pretty well incapacitates me for the better part of a day, depending on exposure. Doing some research, I'm not alone. Since it's illegal, there's not a lot of data on it. And we're passing these laws legalizing it so people can entertain themselves while not even checking to see what problems it may cause. My uncle retired early from being a police detective because of his tobacco allergy. Can you imagine a police station and police cars being tobacco-free in the 70's and early 80s? Full retirement was granted. Same symptoms as yours. His migraines lasted for days. The same environmental restrictions for smoking tobacco apply to smoking pot. I'm sure there are people who have a similar reaction to Tobacco. Re: {Munchies?] Seattle Police to hand out Doritos at Hempfest - Racer X - 08-16-2013 Um, yeah, like my uncle (see 2 posts up) Re: {Munchies?] Seattle Police to hand out Doritos at Hempfest - M A V I C - 08-16-2013 Lemon Drop wrote: You should not be encountering public pot smoking any more than you do now (and I would add that in Seattle I almost never see anyone smoking pot in public) Since I get so sick, I pay very close attention to the smoke I smell. It happens much more frequently. C(-)ris wrote: The same environmental restrictions for smoking tobacco apply to smoking pot. I'm sure there are people who have a similar reaction to Tobacco. From what I can tell, far more people are allergic to pot than tobacco. This is for pollen and with skin contact (I can'd find for smoke inhalation): http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1010828/ 63 (70 percent) were found to be skin test reactive to marijuana pollen and 18 (20 percent) to tobacco leaf. Driving was tough. I guess I could have pulled over and waited for a while. The smell was already in my car so it was too late to roll up the windows. At home and the movie theater line were the toughest. |
