To be fair to the schmuck, he did get properly certified at one time and only formed the not-officially-recognized competing board when it looked like they weren't going to re-certify him without him demonstrating some knowledge of the field.

Dude, he's a general ophthalmologist with a twice-a-month visit to his office to keep up appearances. Hardly a physician in any real sense of the word. Not at all a surgeon.
'Better hope he doesn't have a scalpel anywhere near anyone's eyes.
