Ok, so that site gives you different formats, cool.
Again, tho, its just BW bitmap, the PNG can be made huge and it will still work great. Give it a shot =)

I never do. Don't they basically just take you to a web page? I don't really get it. I guess it's faster and easier than having to type in a URL...

I guess what Im saying is that its just BW, with no curves, which I have always refered to as 'bitmap'.
maybe Im using the wrong language?

Oh, and I have no clue who scans these... you have to open an app to read it, wait for it, figure it out -- and then it just takes you to wherever... and yes, typing in the URL would be faster.

I wanted to use these for some signs as part of a system I was designing, but was told that perhaps people would not pay much attention to them. And, that they may be supplanted by The Next Thing anyhow.

While you can encode a URL, I'm using them on business cards. I'm writing the contact info in VCard 3.0 format and turning that into a QR code. When the business card is scanned the contact info goes directly into the phones contacts.

This is what we do at our company. Saves people from manually entering your contact info.

I've used them on greeting cards to convey text messages. Scan it with your phone and it de-scrambles into "Happy Birthday"..that sort of thing. It's cute. You can also use it to link to your Drop Box where they will find music, graphics, small videos etc centered around the occasion.
