the really good ($20) blades made with Teflon sold at AutoZone, etc. are actually very good and I have had them last for two years. they are put on sale at some point during the year.

I just let O'Reilly put them on for me twice a year. Whatever their special is.

OEM blades are expensive, but they offer the best performance.

This has been my experience, every time.

I've tried several different blades, and they have all suffered from the same problem- they don't follow the curve of the windshield, at the outside edges.

When the rubber bits start to streak, I run a piece of very fine sandpaper across the edge before replacing the blade. This adds a lot of life to them.

I also clean the windshield regularly with paper towels and Glass Plus (a personal preference) so that I don't have to drag the blades across too much road film and grit.

I have no data, other than the fact that I don't replace refills nearly as often as I used to.

This^ Go cheap but do it twice a year and your wipers will be there when you need them.
