The only thing about it is the second thought I give everything. How much data will this use? Should I wait until I can get wifi somewhere? How secure is that wifi going to be? What if my wife blows out her 500mb of data by texting giant images? Sometimes I envy my brother with his grandfathered unlimited data verizon plan. Re: Page Plus 4g-- status? - what4 - 10-17-2014 Successful PP 4G here. Ordered my PP 4G sim before the rollout, on ebay from pageplusdirect.com for about $7. Had my PP Galaxy S3 re-configured by Jay Solo, jscellservice@gmail.com for $30. Also on ebay. He had earlier configured my S3 and unlocked it (requires a PC to hook into). 4G is working and nicely faster than 3G was. You need the $29.95 per month or higher plan to get 4G, but you probably already knew that. Re: Page Plus 4g-- status? - Black - 10-17-2014 rgG wrote: Ha, ha. I wish. ![]() I was thinking about switching my ST iPhone 5 to 4G, but I am on Wifi 90% of the time, and with throttled speeds, it doesn't really seem worth the trouble. I think I have decided to wait till next year, to upgrade to a 6+, so I may decide to upgrade to 4G later, but I am good for now. I do wonder if I would get better call quality on 4G. I need to test that with my daughter's phone sometime. I am glad that if I do get a 6+ at some point, it should be simple to get it activated. I thought I read that Straight Talk phones would be locked out somehow, but could be wrong (had to wade through a bunch of battman garbage...) Sometimes I envy my brother with his grandfathered unlimited data verizon plan. I hear you. When my mother-in-law switched from her Verizon unliminted data, to get her new 5S last year, I was monitoring her usage like a hawk for the first month or so. That Unlimited plan was costing her about $100 a month and she was using less than 1GB, so it didn't make sense to keep it, but it was nice not to worry about it. The ST iPhone 5 would activate just fine on PP because it was throttled to work on 3G, for ST, but there has been a lot of speculation about whether or not it would work on 4G. It does, apparently, but some people have had weird problems with it. Since I don't need 4G right now, I am keeping mine like it is. I have always had my ST iPhone 5 on PP, never on ST. |
