I will post the Slickdeals link if SD helped me find the deal. I think it is a fair tradeoff. I used to search for deals on my won and it is a huge time saver to just use SD.

Every time I see one of these threads, I wish I could kick myself in the butt for passing on the awesome 65" Panasonic the warehouse clubs had for $1300 in the summer of '13 (I got a 55" instead).

I love my Panny 65" plasma. Unfortunately, I got it in the summer of 2012 and paid substantially more than $1300.

But I still love it.

May not be as good, but a great in store only deal at Fry's through Tuesday
60" LG Plasma $499

Re: Love Plasma? RUN - Mr645 - 11-17-2014

I have a slightly older 39" 720P version. When the bedroom TV went out, the wife and I each stopped at a different store on our ways home from work, and we both picked the same 39" 720p Plasma as having the best picture and also being one of the least expensive sets ($399) out of dozens of 39-42" flat TV's on display.

Re: Love Plasma? RUN - Bill in NC - 11-17-2014

I bought a 60" LG plasma 3 years ago because at $999 delivered it was a lot cheaper than other plasmas.

There's a reason it was cheaper - I wish I had ponied up the extra $ for the Panasonic instead.

I would not buy the below for regular use.

Yep. I don't even want to think about what I paid for my original 50" Panasonic in 2005, but it still runs like a champ and I've never regretted the purchase (although I was a lot happier to pay $600 last year for the 55"... )

Slightly older? I'm not sure who was selling a 39" Plasma HDTV in recent years. Perhaps you meant 42"? Can you point me to the model number?

Re: Love Plasma? RUN - The UnDoug - 11-18-2014

The 51" at Best Buy still seems to be available.

I paid (lots) more for my 50" Panny in 2005 than I did for my 65" Panny in 2012. Sold the 50" to a friend when I bought the 65"; like yours, it still works like a champ.
