Are we confusing Java with JavaScript? I've never regularly encountered a website that needs Java.

I probably am. I dunno the difference, no doubt. Though I'd guess the app I use to control the Dugan mixer is probably Javascript based.

I would have rather chosen:
(o) have it disabled because it is the biggest security risk next to Acrobat/Flash, and always update it before I activate it for a site that requires it.

We have it on one Mac because Minecraft runs in Java. Very annoying when developers don't write native apps--shows me they don't really care.

Say what now? Minecraft developers don't really care? Minecraft is a better received app than say, any native version of iWork. iTunes is a native app, has that helped its design? Minecraft runs on OS X, Linux, and Windows, I think the developers do care about servicing as many users as possible.

I don't run Minecraft ion a PC because my computers are to slow, not because I wouldn't use Java. Java should be installed if needed, not "just because" with no way to uninstall, I'm looking at you Apple.
