meh.
black paint looks pretty but is a bear to keep the water spots off of
plus it gets too hot in the sun
(on the tarmac on its upholders)

I LOVE the T-38.

It's my favorite "I wish I could own…" plane.

And the "MiG-28" was the first thing I thought of when I saw the Beale birds.

Well, there are still a whole buttload of DC-3/C-47s in use, so why not the U-2?

There are still 4 SR-71 airframes not accounted for. Could still be in use too, despite news to the contrary.

Which four? I'm dubious about this but I'd like to know more.

As for the U-2/TR-1, it's a remarkable airframe with capabilities that are not yet replaceable by drones or satellites.
