It's bound to appease wishful "thinkers" though. Brady would not divulge his emails or texts. The texts between the individuals deflating the balls clearly implicate him as the impetus for the actions. Re: Mr. MPV QB Exposed as a Cheat - beagledave - 05-07-2015 August West wrote: This. When you have an equipment dude whose nickname is the "deflator", it ain't rocket science to figure out (1) what is being done, (2) and at whose request. Whether this is a big deal or not is up to Roger Goodell. Re: Mr. MPV QB Exposed as a Cheat - Cary - 05-07-2015 My question: Why does each team in football use its own balls? Why don't they share the ball, as in baseball, basketball, hockey (puck), soccer, etc.? Wouldn't using the same ball resolve the issue? Re: Mr. MPV QB Exposed as a Cheat - pRICE cUBE - 05-07-2015 Cary wrote: My best theory is that the NFL secretly wants to allow teams to adjust the ball according to the preference of the QBs. This increases offensive efficiency and scoring which drives up excitement. I believe the NFL set up the rules in order to let the league have plausible deniability when teams adjust the ball pressure. Why else would each team supplies a set of balls for each game? Think about that, each team supplies about a dozen balls each. If the ball was standardized, why would each team need to do this? Two hours of lost custody before the game starts? TWO whole hours? My other theory is the Colts wanted to rat out the Patriots but not have this blow up to a scandal. Listening to former players and NFL executives, they hinted that this type of ball adjustment has been happening for a long time, no one ever turned anyone in for it. Coming off the domestic abuse cases of Ray Rice, Hardy, Peterson, the last thing the NL wanted was a cheating scandal. It appears the Colts broke some kind of fraternal code among teams by reporting this because they denied doing it in the first place. I believe Goodell will make an example out of Brady to make this go away but not too harsh since league rules say tampering with ball pressure is a fine.
