Any of you parents out there with experience with these things? I need recommendations.

When we played cowboys and indians our guns were sticks. My mother saved a ton of money.
Yeah, me too. Though we did have cap guns. It's a different world now. The good guys and the bad guys have 'light sabers'.

They hurt. Could almost put an eye out. They go a lot faster and farther than you think. They really will fly 75 feet. Not super accurately, but ive killed a fly at about 10 feet.

Ive got those same guns for my girls -- in PINK. =)
8 year old has no problem cocking it.

Of course, boys dont have one that looks like a purse then converts to a gun... http://toyland.gizmodo.com/nerf-hid-a-surprisingly-capable-dart-gun-in-a-fashion-a-1702313376

Yes, my daughter suggested safety glasses, which the boys need anyway when they're using hammers, and always leave lying around; more is better.

If that pursy thing wasn't pink, the boys might like it.
