In the House, a simple majority will impeach and send it to the Senate where 2/3 must vote to convict so the Senate will never convict. I do think that there's a good chance that the editors at the Times made sure that the documents were what they are claimed to be and contain the information that it is claimed they contain, though, so I think this merits serious consideration. Re: Manafort Ukraine connection - SteveG - 08-15-2016 Shouldn't Angela Lansbury be appearing soon? ![]() Who knew it was a documentary? I remember the documents they "found" in Iraq showing a bunch of Western anti-war politicians supposedly getting huge cash payments from Saddam Hussain, and that never came to anything (ie, was just more of the BS that was peddled during the Iraq war). So I'm inherently suspicious of Ukrainian ledgers showing payments of millions. If there's something there, there will be some corroboration. Keep in mind that Manafort is not denying working for the pro Russian former governing party in Ukraine - he's denying that he was paid under the table to do nefarious deeds. It was all on the up & up... And we aren't talking about a single line item on a piece of paper - it's 100s of pages of stuff. |
