I'm going to call my insurance company and try and make a claim on the server. Any suggestions on how I phrase this? Basically this server is how I feed my family and now its been cyber vandalized.

Ransomware attacks fall under your cyber insurance policy's "cyber extortion" coverage and can generally be considered "first-party" or "third-party" coverage, according to Christine Marciano, president of Cyber Data Risk Managers. Sounds like you ought to make a claim against the SIS vendor. They need to be held responsible for mistakes like this.
