This one works well for me- good suction, but noisy. No pets, so don't know about the fur. Hose detaches and other vac attachments fit for crevice work.

I found a Metro Vac'N Go at Walmart for my RV. All metal construction, built in the USA and pretty powerful little unit.

Metro Vac'N go

Yes, I have seen this one used quite often with the RV and car owners. Will take a look at it.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions!

I do not have that metro unit, but I have a dust blower by the same company. it seems really well build, metal and made in USA. I would not hesitate to buy that vacuum.

After having two cordless units' batteries die after only a couple of years, I went and got a corded one. Actually the Black and Decker cordless I got, which rated pretty well, lasted maybe a year. And it costs the same amount for a new battery than the entire unit. I got a refurbed corded Hoover for $10. The cord on it is like 12 feet long, so while not quite as convenient as cordless, it works well.
