Don't misunderstand me, I have no problem with modern tiny motors. It just baffles me why someone would build a daily driver on the edge of self destruction?
With modern lubrication and metallurgy, you can easily get hundreds of thousands of miles from a motor if you don't abuse it.

Well over 200,000 miles for my 1988 Honda Accord.
Got rid of it mostly because other family members didn't want to learn how to drive a stick.

I had a 1995 Honda del Sol with the twin-cam VTEC B16A3 engine. Boy that was fun. I miss it.
