My "tone" was for the producers.
There are essentially four ways to put a show together. From difficult to easy:
1. Original story, original music - Book of Mormon
2. Existing story, original music - Billy Elliot
3. Original story, existing music - Contact (and Mama Mia)
4. Existing story, existing music - Jersey Boys (and Beautiful)
