My only concern is do we as a people have the will and discipline to offer a president of whatever political stripe the dignity of the office and respect for the position moving forward? Trump deserves all of this vitriol of course.

I have this concern also and feel our political, especially presidential office, has been soiled forever. Our children/grandchildren will still be living with Trumps Folly and soiled political offices.

Not surprising that the racists are not condemning this "racist" act.

If we get a president with a decent sense of decorum and self-control the public will be relieved and respect will come back. Like or hate his politics, Reagan's stage presence brought respect back to the office after Nixon's pettiness and Carter's "nice-guy-out-of-his-depth"-ness.

I don't need a president who never uses any profanity. I want a president who is not a white supremacist. It's not just words; it's the racism behind the words.

A person who values and respects all people regardless of background or country of origin can let slip a few profanities, I'll forgive.

It will take a generation of stability and truth to get back to how it was when Kennedy took office. Foreign leaders and diplomats believed what Kennedy said because of the previous history.

Nope! Nope, nope, nope.

Maybe a tiny bit for home perception of the office, but that is it. The Reagan admin colluded with Iran to sell them weapons and parts to maintain them, and made deals with drug lords and supported mass murder by the Contras. The sales to Iran was against the U.S. lead embargo. It was one of the biggest foreign policy embarrassments since WWII.

Exactly. The folks who are trying to reduce this to "he used a bad word" are missing the point. Perhaps on purpose.

perfection does exist, apparently.
