There has always been an element of American society that to be honest wants a monarch, not a president as leader of the country. Looks like a candidate out of that pool of our citizenry.

There's a tempting simplicity to dictatorships. Much easier than the hard work of following complex issues and imperfect candidates for yourself. Of course, this assumes you are in the Favored Class of said dictatorship. If not, you're a brown kid in a cage.

I believe this is more part of Pence's end game. He's been pretty vocal in saying that he will see abortion ended in his lifetime; this is one more step towards that goal.

Sources are saying this was a done deal weeks ago. Once Kennedy was assured his former clerk would be nominated he felt comfortable retiring.
