There have been a number of reports over the years of how some of the online ticketing, registration and sales sites determine prices based on the cookies, they read, your browser and whether you have a PC or Mac. Some of these have found that the prices offered were higher if you checked from a Mac.
Interesting, I guess they assume that Mac users are wealthier and willing to spend more. Is there any law that prevents this type of discrimination?

Eh, I've driven in MD and particularly in the Baltimore - DC corridor, I'll take Boston.
As for Megabus, they used to have pickups in the college towns of Amherst and Northampton but dropped them a few years ago. They were trying to get some of the student traffic to Boston and NYC, but as I understand it that did not work out for them. Peter Pan still reigns in the area for that.

You have to book way early and there's only a few $1 tickets available. That the friend keeps getting them seems odd -- but some people do seem to have certain kinds of luck, and I guess his is with Megabus.
