I wasn't going to until I saw some photos sent by friends in Italy of store shelves stripped absolutely bare.
Humans scare me far more than the virus does.
So we packed away a few weeks supply of staples just to avoid any chaos if and when others get stupid.

Yes. I also have food allergies/sensitivities. If there are any interruptions in supplies or local quarantines I want my safe food on hand. Prep like you would for a natural disaster where you won’t lose power.

Foodstuff isn't that big of a deal, we have a full pantry and lots of rice.
I will buy some cough medicine and Nyquil as those are likely going to sell out fast. (it also helps that my cough medicine is honey, lemon, and bourbon. I'll use it as a preventative :drink

Stock up in case of a big earthquake. That includes stocking up on water because he water pipes will likely break.

We could easily live off of what we keep in the pantry and the freezer for at least a month even without preparing. Might lack in variety, but won't starve. After that, we have the cats.

We buy extra when stuff goes on sale so we've got plenty for quite a while.

I'm more worried about panic causing empty shelves, the way they get during hurricanes, etc...
I convinced my wife to buy a week's worth of canned goods, that we can use up over the year if this passes. she was unconvinced but humored me...until she saw the fideo (Mexican Vermicelli) and Beans were near empty...
"When the gente (she means recent immigrants) are worried, then I worry" so we got another week of dry goods and plenty of vitamins. "My Grandma alway's kept to giant bins full of canned goods that she cycle through, now I know why"
If things get really bad we could stretch that.

Nope we keep a reasonable stock on hand for winter storms...
