I have been lusting after the 85/1.4L but that's a lot more than $200. I am talking about manual focus models like Samyang. The lowest 85mm 1.4 autofocus you will find used is the Sigma used around $500. I have the model before the ART model and it is incredibly sharp on my D800. I know, but I'd rather get a Canon AF lens for $10 more. There's not that much difference between f/1.8 and f/1.4. Edit: I already have the Canon 85/1.8 EF. Just saying. Yeah, I rarely manually focus and have much diminished ability to do it. There is also the Canon 50mm 1.8 STM that can be used for all purposes and blurs background decently. Re: Webcam compatible Canon T6 ($269), T7 ($299) both with 18-55 & 75-300 lenses - pRICE cUBE - 06-08-2020 Cheaper APS-c chip camera here http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?1,2494888 Re: Webcam compatible Canon T6 ($269), T7 ($299) both with 18-55 & 75-300 lenses - Sam3 - 06-08-2020 The the nifty-50/1.8 is currently $99: https://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/en/catalog/ef-50mm-f-18-stm Also, a current technology full-frame Canon RP body can be had for $899: https://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/en/catalog/ef-50mm-f-18-stm (refurbished $808) https://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/en/catalog/refurbished-eos-rp-body But still, $269 for an APS-C body and two lenses is a very good price. I would strongly consider going to a mirrorless for $130 more, with the Canon m50. It's really teeny but yet feels comfortable in my bigger hands, it's lightweight and does a really good job. $399: https://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/en/catalog/refurbished-eos-m50-ef-m-15-45mm-f-35-63-is-stm-lens-kit-black Re: Webcam compatible Canon T6 ($269), T7 ($299) both with 18-55 & 75-300 lenses - jdc - 06-08-2020 Love the idea of the flip out screen and smaller body like the m50 -- but everything doubles in $$. =( as a "starter" camera... $300 with lenses is nice. Re: Webcam compatible Canon T6 ($269), T7 ($299) both with 18-55 & 75-300 lenses - pRICE cUBE - 06-08-2020 $300 with 2 lenses is even nicer. If you're patient, the T6i or T7i will probably go on sale before too long. I've been watching for a long time. The 'i' editions of these cameras are almost always double the cost of this deal. https://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/en/catalog/eos-rebel-t7i-ef-s-18-55-is-stm-kit-refurbished https://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/en/catalog/eos-rebel-t7i-ef-s-18-135-is-stm-kit-refurbished Re: Webcam compatible Canon T6 ($269), T7 ($299) both with 18-55 & 75-300 lenses - pRICE cUBE - 06-09-2020 Just remember that a full frame lens such as the 50mm 1.8 STM shows the field of view equivalent of about 85mm on an aps-c sensor, it has no multiplier on a full frame camera. |
