Re: battery update - Fritz - 06-10-2020 "...but MacKenzie's not bitter!" and single. Re: battery update - Fritz - 06-10-2020 Onkyo said remove the batts and press all the buttons and try again. That did it, for a couple times. So I suppose my issue may be dirty pads under the buttons. Re: battery update - space-time - 06-10-2020 So the remote is firing (maybe just too weak?) and the receiver takes IR from another device. I think you need to try fresh batteries in the remote and try to reset the code again. Re: battery update - Fritz - 06-10-2020 the batts are fresh. I think there's funk inside. Eating at the "home theater". Re: battery update - Fritz - 06-10-2020 opened the remote and gave it a good wipe with 70%. All happy now. Catastrophe averted. Call back the National Guard. Now to decide what tonites post dinner film will be. Re: battery update - space-time - 06-11-2020 How did you open the remote? Usually they have those plastic clips that break if you try to open. Re: battery update - Fritz - 06-11-2020 slowly and carefully. I'm a former tech, so I've learned a few things. That's not to say I haven't failed on some others. Just like opening an early mini, or just about any cell. Thin flat blades screwdrivers. But a hammer if all else fails. Fixes nothing and everything. Re: battery update - MrNoBody - 06-11-2020 Before resorting to a hammer, a hairdryer on low heat is also helpful for opening 'snap fit' plastics. Use it & a shaved old credit-card to shuck USB drives. Re: battery update - Fritz - 06-11-2020 MrNoBody wrote: yes, but some days/devices, not as satisfying. |
