I will occasionally have a page that refuses to load in Safari; usually clearing my history and restarting the browser will fix it. Or I just switch to another browser for that site for a bit.

May have a clue.
Tower is on ElCapitan
and Laptop is on High Sierra.
Laptop works and APPLE is being an ASS about old hardware and systems.
Why limit their bull crappe to just old phones.

For sure. The browser that you're having trouble with is a two year old version. Life moves pretty fast…
