Re: cheap generic liquid soap? - wurm - 07-14-2020 Thanks, all. Yeah, there's no problem if I want the 8 or even 16oz. bottles of whatever. Plenty of that. But I'm looking for the bigger refill sizes. No Costco near me, so I figured Wally's Equate brand would be my next best bet. But Out of Stock in the three nearest Walmarts to me and unavailable for shipping. Cheapest big jug of liquid soap I see at Amazon is $20 for a gallon. Hadn't really thought of using dishwashing liquid in that dispenser. Time to check Dollar Tree again. Re: cheap generic liquid soap? - Robert M - 07-14-2020 Wurm, Purchase plain ol'l soap in 1 gallon jugs from office supply shops. It's available. I never buy antibacterial soap. Just regular soap. I buy it in the jigs and refill pump dispensers. Sometimes I get Dial. Sometimes I get Softsoap. Sometimes I get Genuine Joe. You get the idea. Here's are some example: Quill.com. Staples.com. Officedepot.com. All of the online office supply shops have hand soap in stock. 'course, there is nothing wrong with dropping a soap dish on the countertop and using plain ol' bar soap. Cheap and probably even more readily available than liquid soap. Robert Re: cheap generic liquid soap? - Racer X - 07-14-2020 I'd go the bar soap route until the liquid becomes readily and cheaply available. Lots of stuff Staples has free local delivery, especially office supplies like TP, tissues and cleaning supplies. Re: cheap generic liquid soap? - wurm - 07-14-2020 Thanks, Robert. I don't know how i forgot about the office supply stores and the big box home improvement stores. Best I can find is $13/gal from Quill with free shipping. Lowes has a 50oz SoftSoap refill for $5. So either way it's about .10/oz. Your OfficeCrave link has Genuine Joe for $6/gallon, which is great, but the $9.95 shipping kills that. Of course I could buy three gallons and it would still be the same $9.95 shipping, so that's a possibility. ![]() Re: cheap generic liquid soap? - wurm - 07-14-2020 We did the bar soap in a dish routine for a while in the bathroom when stuff was hard to find, but my wife was not a fan of that. And now that she can get her small (overpriced) liquid soap, we're back to that in the bathroom. Re: cheap generic liquid soap? - MrNoBody - 07-14-2020 Two other sources no one mentioned:
be highly diluted with water, yet still be effective for hand washing. Aldi's "Radiance" is <$3 for 24oz and is anti-bacterial. Quite similar to Dawn. Re: cheap generic liquid soap? - d4 - 07-14-2020 I'm guessing you are only checking online. Get to Walmart when it opens and line up regardless of what it says online. Re: cheap generic liquid soap? - datbeme - 07-14-2020 We've always put dishsoap in the counter dispenser. Obviously, you don't need much when washing hands. Edit: Recommended method for filling it: https://www.amazon.com/Never-Mt-Soap-Dispenser-Kit/dp/B002FJ9LBS/ Re: cheap generic liquid soap? - Speedy - 07-14-2020 Yup, another (Ivory) dish soap user. It's a bit of a pita to crawl under the cabinet to refill the bottle and the funnel thing makes more of a mess than it's worth. |
