Re: "Vending Packs" of 1988 Topps cards worth anything? - Paul F. - 02-06-2007 I would go with selling them still sealed... I had a great result selling envelopes of stamps on eBay that were originally sorted and sealed by a stamp dealer in the early 1900's (1905-1910). I opened ONE from each bundle, to show what was likely inside... And put the rest of the bundle up on dutch auction. Most of them were valued at less than $1 for the contents of each envelope (very common stamps). The sealed envelopes went for from $2 to $8 EACH. Most of the feedback from buyers was that they really enjoyed opening them themsevles and searching. No one to my knowledge found anything REAL valuable, but there were a few $2-3 stamps in some. I started my investment portfolio with the proceeds of these auctions ![]() Re: "Vending Packs" of 1988 Topps cards worth anything? - spearmint - 02-06-2007 [quote Kramerica]$7.95 buy-it-now here: Hard to belive but maybe there is a glut on the market. Hll I am interested. I believe you can do better but from what I learned here you are not going to be rich. Re: "Vending Packs" of 1988 Topps cards worth anything? - 3d - 02-06-2007 If i remember correctly... 1998 Topps Baseball was a stinker. The trading card companies all started getting greedy and were churning out cases and cases of cards like there was no tommorrow. I stopped collecting cards in '87. The "wood grain" border year. At least there were a bunch of rookies to chase after. McGwire, Canseco, Bo Jackson, heh ![]() **EDIT** Oops. I meant 1988 Topps Baseball. Not 1998. Re: "Vending Packs" of 1988 Topps cards worth anything? - Kramerica - 02-06-2007 Same with me 3d.... '87 I was hardcore, but after that the market got flooded and later crashed... Cards from '87 that had been worth $100 (Canseco rookies) and others just plummeted. Wish I had sold some of them back then, but I'm still holding onto my old cards.
