Kumho are good, but i liked Yokohama better.

I was looking at those for my '99 Sable 4 valve car.

Many of the big names command a far higher price simply to cover their huge marketing and sponsorship costs. That being said, the Michelins may perform 3% better (just a guess for illustrative purposes only). Now for some, twice the price for 3% better performance is worth it to them. Now I would never recommend cutting corners (pun intended) on tires (or brakes) but if you can get 2 sets for the price of 1 set of Michelins, and the reviews on similar vehicles with similar driving conditions are really good, go for it.

Formulation/Marketing = Michelins are almost always more expensive.
Michelin advertises a lot.

I got BF Goodrich All Terrain on my Xterra and I also replaced the shocks with bilstein brand, the stock shocks froze when I compressed them by hand, no response.

Okay, going with the stock size 195/55-15.

Looking at the Survey Results and Tire Test Result Charts for the Kumho ECSTA ASX versus the Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S, I think it would be hard to justify double the price for the Michelin when the test resuts are so close.

I put the Kumho Ecsta HP4 on my wife's '99 camry with great success. Hard to beat for the performance and value.

"This'd be for my 2000 Civic Si.

The Kumho ECSTA ASX are only $60, and come with high ratings. They're classified as Ultra High Performance All-Season tires."

I recently put Kumho performance runflats on my Mini and am so far very pleased.

Thanks for the link. Very nice site!

I put Kumho Solus' on Mrs. Tats' car- a 94 Acura Integra. She likes them more than the Dunlop Sport A2s that she had previously. The Kumhos worked so well that I got Kumho Road Venture HTs for my truck. Great tires and Kumho customer service is excellent.
